Mrs. Maureen Lucci – Pre-School

Mrs. Maureen Lucci is our Preschool teacher.  She is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Elementary Education and continuing education hours in Early Childhood Education.  She has been teaching and working in the education field for over 25 years. She began her teaching career in Virginia, then worked for an Educational Software Company mentoring teachers in the use of technology in the classroom and helping develop supplemental computer curriculum and then returned to the classroom after the birth of her children.  Mrs. Lucci is married to Vince and they have 2 children, Joseph and Grace, who both attend SSPP. The Lucci family resides in Chippewa Township.  Mrs. Lucci enjoys reading, photography, and sports. She is very proud to be a teacher of Catholic education and a parent of Catholic School students. Mrs. Danielle Rains – Kindergarten

Mrs. Danielle Rains is our Kindergarten teacher.  She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a BS in Elementary Education and has a minor in Spanish.  She has been teaching for 20 years, 16 at SSPP.  Mrs. Rains is married to Bill and they have 2 boys, Liam and Logan.  The Rains family resides in Center Township.  Mrs. Rains enjoys reading, gardening, and outdoor sports.    She is very proud to be a student and teacher of Catholic education and works hard to set a strong faith foundation for her students.  Mrs. Rains is part of SSPP’s Student Assistance Program. drainssspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Claire Schachner – First Grade

Mrs. Claire Schachner is our 1st Grade teacher.  Mrs. Schachner is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Chatham College with a BS in Child Development and Elementary Education.  She has been teaching for 23 years.  Mrs. Schachner is married to Jim and they have 1 son, Nathan.  The Schachner family resides in Moon Township.  Mrs. Schachner enjoys reading, biking, skiing, cooking and visiting museums.  She loves teaching in a Catholic school because “I enjoy the smaller classroom size and the family feeling here”.  The First Grade students enjoy writing to pen pals in Puerto Rico every year. cschachnersspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Rachel Aquino – Second Grade

Mrs. Rachel Aquino comes to St. Peter & Paul as our second grade teacher.  She received her BA from Point Park University in Early Childhood and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Duquesne University.     She began her teaching career at St. Agnes School in West Mifflin then moved to the Beaver area to marry her husband, Justin.  After teaching for six years, Mrs. Aquino took the position of Early Childhood Assistant Director at the Beaver County YMCA.  Mr.. and Mrs.  Aquino are the proud parents of Jacob and reside in Patterson Township. raquinosspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Marilyn Stamer – Third Grade

Mrs. Marilyn Stamer is our Third Grade teacher. A graduate of Slippery Rock University, she earned her BS in Elementary Education and a certificate in Gifted Education. Mrs. Stamer has been teaching for 33 years, 30 at SSPP. Married to Erich, the Stamer’s have 1 son, Erich Jr. and the family resides in Chippewa Township. Mrs. Stamer enjoys traveling, reading and walking her dog Max. She is the teacher representative for the PTG. She loves teaching at a Catholic school calling it her ‘vocation’. mstamersspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Sandee Bodimer – Fourth Grade

Mrs. Sandee Bodimer is our 4th Grade teacher who, herself, is a product of twelve years of Catholic education.  She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received a BS in Elementary Education with a dual minor in Social Studies and Early Childhood.  Mrs. Bodimer has been teaching for 24 years.  She has 2 sons, David and Brian.    Mrs. Bodimer helps to coordinate the Geography Bee, Tar Wars program, Spelling Bee, English Festival for grades 4-6, and is the Secretary for the SSPP Advisory Board.  She is an avid reader, who also enjoys writing, baking and playing old fashioned board games.  Her faith, family and friends are most important in her life.   Mrs. Bodimer values the religious atmosphere that permeates the halls of SSPP! sbodimersspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Karen Miller – Fifth Grade

Mrs. Karen Miller, our 5th grade teacher is a graduate of Minot State University located in Minot, North Dakota.  Mrs. Miller has her BA in Elementary Education and is Early Childhood certified.  Upon graduation, she spent two years as a Pre-School teacher before becoming the First Grade teacher as St. Joseph in Coraopolis.  After the closure of St. Joseph, Mrs. Miller worked on a grant program with Penn State designed to increase reading comprehension, and spent several years as a substitute teacher.  Mrs. Miller is married to Stephen and they have three boys, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Greyson.  The Miller family resided in Brighton Township and are parishioners of Saints Peter & Paul Parish.  Mrs. Miller spends her time outside of school leading a Cub Scout den, watching hers sons’ soccer games, hiking, gardening, and trying new recipes.  She is very happy to be back in a Catholic school environment where she can include the faith and values of the church into her everyday curriculum.  kmillersspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Louella Joseph is our 7th Grade teacher.  She received both her BS amd Master’s Degree from Duquesne University.  Mrs. Joseph has been teaching at SSPP for 10 years.  She is married to Bob and they enjoy their 2 dogs, Shadow and Pepper.  Favorite hobbies include cooking, baking, skating, and shopping.  Mrs. Joseph works with Student Council and the Beaver County Retired Teachers Spelling Bee.  As a former student of a Catholic school, Mrs. Joseph believes in the religious and educational experience students have attending SSPP. ljosephsspp@gmail.com

Miss Emily Morelli – Eighth Grade

Miss Emily Morelli is our 8th grade teacher.  She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA Degree in English Writing and a Masters Degree in Secondary English Education.  She enjoys spending time with her dog, Gunner, and her horse, Libby.  Horseback riding is her favorite hobby—she has been riding for 21 years.  This is Miss Morelli’s third year in education, and she is excited to be at SSPP.  She is a former Catholic school student, and she appreciates the strong foundation in faith and positive atmosphere SSPP provides.  Miss Morelli works with the SSPP students in Forensics and English Festival, and as the 8th grade teacher, she prepares the students for Confirmation. emorellisspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Debbie Howells – Computer and Music

Mrs. Debbie Howells teaches Computer and Music for the students at SSPP.  She attended Geneva College and received a BS in Music Education and a BA in Vocal Performance.  She has been teaching for 22 years.  Mrs. Howells is married to Phil and they have 2 children, Phillip and Katy.  The Howells’ family resides in Baden.  Mrs. Howells enjoys baking, singing, and crafting.  She enjoys working at SSPP because she values the freedom to share her faith with the students.  Mrs. Howells is the coordinator of our annual Christmas Play and Spring Musical. dhowellssspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Dawna Miocic – Algebra & Math

An Alumni of Saints Peter & Paul School, Mrs. Miocic teachers sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Math and Algebra.  Mrs. Miocic graduated from Seton Hill College with a Degree in Math in Secondary Education.  She also has a Degree from Duquesne University in School Counseling.  All of her twenty four teaching years  have been at Saints Peter and Paul School!  Mrs. Miocic is married to Greg and they have two daughters, Katelyn and Maria.  Both Katelyn and Maria graduated from SSPP and now attend Beaver High School.  The Miocic’s have been life long parishioners and residents of Beaver.  Mrs. Miocic is very involved in our school coordinating MathCounts, Co-coordinating the JJV Basketball Tournament and the annual Lenten Fish Fry. dmiocicsspp@gmail.com

Mrs. Lauren Gonzalez – Spanish Education

Mrs. Lauren Gonzalez is our Spanish teacher.  Mrs. Gonzalez is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a BA in Spanish.  She has been teaching 13 years.  She currently teaches Spanish to SSPP students 2 days per week.  Mrs. Gonzalez is married to Abel and the have 2 children, Alondra and Logan.  The Gonzalez family resides in South Beaver Township.  Mrs. Gonzalez enjoys gardening, cooking, and is a “soccer” mom!  Mrs. Gonzalez also enjoys teaching at SSPP because of the many caring people and students that she has encountered over the years. lgonzalezsspp@gmail.com

Mr. David Drake – Physical Education

Mr. David Drake is our Physical Education teacher. Mr. Drake graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BS in Health and Physical Education. He also has a degree in Criminal Justice. A teacher for 7 years, he is married to his wife Carri and they have 3 children, Blair, Cameron, and Paige. The Drake family resides in Center Township. Mr. Drake also coaches swimming and enjoys hockey, golf, basketball and being with his family. Mrs. Tara Gitzen – Art Education

Mrs. Tara Gitzen teaches Art at SSPP. She received her BA from Carlow University in Art Education with a minor in Psychology.  Mrs. Gitzen has been teaching for 9 years.  Mrs. Gitzen is married to Michael and they have 3 children, Jacob, Isabella, and Xander. The Gitzens reside in Marshall Township.  Mrs. Gitzen enjoys painting, ceramics, and gardening.
